Water discovered on an Asteroid

http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2010/04/100428-asteroid-water-first-ice-frost-themis/

For the first time, water has been discovered on an asteroid. This is a very important scientific find, since it could hold the secret of how our planet became conducive to life. The asteroid's name is 24 Themis, and the sun's reflection off of ice on it was seen from a Nasa base in Hawaii. To sum up this find- Asteroids may have brought life to Earth.

Although at first glance I thought this article to be an uninteresting one, until I realized what this can mean as far as Earth's history. I wonder if this could be the next link in the chain of discovery of Earth's origin.
