Illuminating Bioluminescence

Bioluminescence is exclusive mainly to underwater creatuers. This is the technique of an animal creating its own light. This ability is very useful to animals living in the open ocean, since they use a method of hiding in the darker parts of the sea during daytime, and rising to catch prey at night.

These creatures are amazing, in my opinion. I remember the children's film, "Finding Nemo" stirring my interest in sea creatures such as the ones mentioned in this article. Scientists still don't fully understand Bioluminescence, but I look forward to scientific leaps in understanding of it surfacing in the future.
