Lyme Disease Vaccine? Tick Saliva Found to Protect Mice from Lyme Disease

This artical was about how Lyme disease can be prevented by the saliva of its pathogen-the tick. A protein in the saliva can help work as a vaccine to prevent an affect that the tick can make. The body can make immunity to the disease if injected with the siliva of the tick. Scientists say that this can be true for many kinds of disease-spreading animals. By injecting the protein, it creates something that counteracts the poison the tick spreads and prevents the Lyme Disease. Scientist are now looking for cures/preventions for all sorts of diseased like this using similar techniques. Such as West Nile Virus and dengue fever.

This is a great discovery made my scientists. It can help many people and save lives. I found it interesting how they found out this worked. Scientists injected mice with the saliva and exposed the mice with Lyme disease. I found it interesting that they knew what to do and that they knew how to fix it. I'm glad that they made this discovery and maybe they can find some more cures for even worse diseases. Maybe they can even use this technique.
