The oil spill in the Gulf of mexico

The engineers from the British oil firm BP are trying to find a way to stop the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. The well was blown out and the well is leaking oil about some 5,000 barrels a day since the explosion of the well. Mean while it’s been washing up on the cost of Alabama and other nearby coasts. The crews have been laying inflatable booms and spraying chemical dispersants and setting fire to the slick to try to protect local wildlife. They are trying to help the spill stop by putting a funnel iron box weighting 98 tones and they hope it collects 85% of the leaking oil.

I hope they stop this soon because this is going to really do some damage. I never knew this could happen I thought they had everything under control. This is a big issue they really have to get as much attention to this and it will take some time to clean this up. It will be a job to clean this up and well hopefully they do this quickly. I think that this will as well get oil prices up because of so much oil we are losing and this is bad.
