HOW BAD CAN THE SPILL GET?

The Gulf of Mexico oil spill is getting more serious. Everyday since the spill, there has been more and more gallons of oil released too. Right now, 200,000 gallons of oil is being spilled everyday. Tar balls and oiled-up birds are already washing up on the Louisiana shore. Engineers are being careful about what they do to stop the leak because some things can make the leak worse. For a long-term fix, BP is drilling a relief well that will hopefully drain some of the oil. Scientists say this oil leak could last for many months and even years.

This is terrible that this is still going on. It's insane how many gallons of oil leaks into the ocean everyday. This oil is killing fishes and other animals day by day and I don't think some people even realize it. The oil isn't only killing our animals, but our ocean. The oil is taking over the entire ocean. After all of this is over with, who knows if our oceans will even be safe to visit. This oil spill is also costing us. If you haven't noticed, prices on items have been going up just because of this oil spill we can't stop. I think the people who are trying to get this problem under control need to take this a little more serious and try harder to get this problem solved right away.
