Since the historic flooding in the southeast, more than 30 people have died. Neelynn Shevcraft and her 4-year old daughter barely escaped being among them. When Shevcraft was a home grding papers she heard water lapping against her house. She looked outside and half of her car was underwater. She called 911 and they told her to get on the highest point one-story house. so she put her daughter and her 2 dogs on the counter. After she opened the attic door she put her daughter and the dogs up there. Sheucraft started calling people so they can help get her daughter out. When one of their neighbors, John Morse, a swimming coach heard that they were stuck in their house he got int his car and drove to their house and found shallow water near the house and dived into the water. he was able to rescue Shevcraft, her daughter, and their 2 dogs.
I think that its great that there are brave people out there that are not afraid to put their life on the line to safe other people. Since the flood in Nashville, many people have been donating money. Some people who have donated are Country Music Singers. Even though most of their homes and their record studios have been destroyed they are still helping people. i think its great that people are helping each other out during this hard time.
