This article is about the volcano that erupted in Iceland. Its says that roughly thirty-story-lava fountains shoot up from a half a mile long rapture this sunday. The volcano that erupted was Eyjafjallajokull. This island lies just south of the Artic Circle atop the Mid-Alantic-Ridge where two tectonic plates are rubbing against each other. These types of volcanic eruptions in Iceland only happen about 5 years apart.
I find this super interesting. I think that it is very weird to see the lava on top, if only for a little bit, of the ice. I had no idea that there were even volcanos under Iceland. I have never seen a valcono up close, but I would like to. Not when its erupting of course.
